Ponytail tips for Thin Flat hair

Hello PPB's

I have been along sufferer of thin hair, and it sucks! I watch all these amazing hair tutorials and know for well I will never achieve that look with the hair on my head. So this is for all of your lovelies or are just like me and would be very grateful to just have a thicker looking perkier ponytail.

There are 2 tips and they are both so super easy! All you need is 1 bobble 1 bobby pin (or 2 its up to you) 1 little clear elastic and dry shampoo or texturising powder if needed :)

This is what my hair looks like in a normal ponytail and today was a good pony day!
All in all not much hight and as the day goes on, it would just get droopy and limp and also fall down my head.

Tip 1 - Push up bobby pin
This is the most simple of the 2, all you need is your normal hair bobble and the bobby pin, you can use 2 but thats completely up to you, I find 2 shows through my pony but one is hidden perfectly as you will see.
So all you do simple is put you hair up in a normal pony tail like you always do and then slide the bobby pin down down the hair bobble and down the back of your head. See its like its not even there but it does this!
It lifts your pony making it look thicker and also holds it in place all day!! I love a high pony and I like it to stay where I put it!!

Tip 2 - Double Ponytail
This one is still very simple but there are a few more steps. :) This is the one I use most as I prefer the results it gives.

  1. First I like to use the XXL Volume dry shampoo by Batiste, I spray it only hands and rub it into my roots but so my hair has something to grip on to.
  2. Then you want to use the clear elastic and put your hair into a half up half down style, making sure that the pony you create is nice a high on your head, or where ever you want your pony to sit.
  3. Now you want to bring the rest of your hair up to that pony, I find it much easier to do this by tipping my hair upside down and brush it up, Then just tie it all together with the normal bobble.
  4. I like to pull a few bits out around my face just to frame it and there you go...
I love how this looks :) You can also use the bobby pin in the same away as you did before with this to hold the pony in place all day and to give a bit more poof and the top :)

I hope this has been a little helpful. For a better look at how to do them make sure to watch my video below its easier to follow when you watch someone do it, I think so anyway:)

My Morning Haircare Routine

Hello PPB's :)

Everyones hair care routine changed through out the year, well mine dose anyway depending not he weather. If its hot a don't use heat if its cold I do, to warm me up haha! so I though I would share with you quays my current hair care :)

The Products I use;
  • Redken Smooth locks Shampoo and Conditioner
  • Redken Body Full Shampoo and Conditioner
  • Mane and Tail Shampoo and conditioner
  • Argan Oil of marocco dry oil spray
  • Redken Anti Snap leave in treatment
  • Tressemme heat defence
  • Batiste XXL Volume dry shampoo

The Tools;
  • Trangle teezer
  • Phil Smith hot air brush
When it comes to my hair I hate fuss so the quicker the better for me. The first thing you might think is why so many shampoos and conditioners? Well I like to switch it up every few days I find this gives me the best results, If I use the same one for too long my hair becomes very hard to work with and limp. They do say you meant to change your Shampoo and conditioners every few months anyway I just go to the next extreme haha :)

I adore Redken Products too. They saved me from a hair malfunction and brought it back to life and since then I have been a loyal customer, I haven't found one that I haven't loved using and this might sound sad but when I get a new one I get very excited to wash my hair... haha

The same applies with the Anti Snap leave in treatment, I honestly can't see me ever changing this I love it, I just pump 3 pumps into my hands and the put it in the ends of my hair. It makes it a lot easier to them brush through with the tangle teenier, If I don't use it, my hair is very knotty and hard to brush through. The Tangle Teezer also helps with this and I never use anything else.
I have also noticed a massive difference with my hair since using an argon oil every time I wash it, It's so much softer and I suffer from dry and frizzy hair and it really helps to tame it down! :)

The Phil Smith hot air brush is a new addition to my routine and I have loved the results, I have always blow dryed my hair when I wanted it dry quickly but It more often than not left it flat and dry. But now using this I get much better results, I leave my hair in a towel for quiet a long time before using heat, and then I use the Hot air brush by holding it in my roots and then brushing down, by doing this I get so much more volume in my roots and with having fine flat hair its very hard to get. To help hold the extra volume I like to put some Batiste XXL Volume dry shampoo in my hands and the rub a little into the roots, this just gives the hair something to hold onto and stops it dropping.

And that is it :) What are some of your favourite products to use?

My Shopping List Repeats

Hello PPB's

Well today is a very wet and cold day in Cambridge so I decided to have a look through some old blog posts, its always nice to see how you've progressed and I like to see if there is any update posts I can do. It made me think though, as bloggers we try out and review so many products and yes okay we love them but even products we love can sometimes be replaced, so I decided to do a post today to show you the products I've already reviewed but still use!

How many products you've reviewed can you honestly say you still used and love!

Don't get me wrong all my reviews are honest and I always make sure I really give products a chance before I review but even some of the best have been replaced and just fallen to the back of the storage draw.

Here are the products I really now couldn't live without! and I'll link my original posts with them. P.S be warned some of the posts are quite old and therefore really not the greatest! haha If you want me to do any up to date reviews of anything just let me know! :)
Redken Extreme - I've only had to repurchase the Anti-Snap once! It lasts for ages! I still use it every time I wash my hair, it makes brushing so much easier and my hair so soft, The shampoo and Conditioner I use for 1 wash week, I wash my hair every other day and I alternate between different Redken Products! Redken has become my go to brand for hair care!
Vaseline Spray & Go - Again I've only had to repurchase this once before, I just find it so much easier and quicker them moisturising with a cream its so hassle free and perfect for a lazy moisturiser like me! Why we never used a spray before I will never know! I really want them to make little travel size ones for my handbag!
No'7 Hot Cloth Cleanser - I swear by this stuff, this is my 3rd bottle and I still use it every night to remove my make up and even if I've had a fresh face day I use to to cleanse before using my toner, It just leaves my skin so smooth and clean and if I have any sign of a break out this stuff clears it up so quickly!
realTechniques Brushes - These continue to be my everyday brushes and my collection now consists of 11 brushes! These give my the best application and are so easy to maintain!
Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer - I only picked this up to begin with because I was too poor to buy my normal Esteé Lauder Double wear, but now I use this daily and only use Esteé Lauder on special occasions, The only difference I really see between he 2 is how long they last and of course the price!

I hope you're all have a good and productive day! :)

Guess who's back...

Hello my beautiful PPB's

I have missed you and blogging so much the past month, but I'm finally back with a nice new laptop that actually works and doesn't freeze and shut itself down every half hour! *does a little excited clap*
After being away for so long I thought it would be nice to just do a quick catch post sharing a few pictures of what I've been up to over the last month and let you know what will be up in the future.

Warning: This post will contain a lot of pictures!

Where have I been?

Okay so lets start with March 21st! Seems so long ago now! haha This was Mine and Daniel's 5th Anniversary! SO crazy, the last 5 years have gone so quickly!

From this
Oh dear haha!!

To this
Haha okay so not one of Daniels best side, but we were excited, we decided to go to London Zoo for the day and it was so much fun! It wasn't the warmest of days but it didn't rain so all was good! :) Here are some pictures of the animals we saw! I seriously love Zoo's!!!!
This day was so much fun. I really want to go back! We didn't get to see everything because we ran out of time, so hopefully in the summer on a nice warm day we will go back :) I obviously took way more pictures of the penguins than anything else and we also watched them be fed! My love for them has grown even more! :)

What have I been wearing?

I have decided this week that I can now start wearing Spring/Summer colours on my nails, I love Dark reds so much I find it hard to stop wearing it, also with red being the only colour I can wear at work, I'm making the most of this week off to wear nice summer colours. I've gone for Barry M in Berry and Essie in Penny talk which is a stunning rose gold colour and who doesn't love a bit of rose gold!

What have I been loving?

I have been looking for a face cream for ages but I haven't never been able to find one that I love and want to keep buying, until now!! :) I have always loved Estee Lauder Make-up I use it on a  daily basis and after seeing Anna Saccone rave about their face creams I had to try some. The brand have never failed me before so why not! Well they have not disappointed this time either! I picked up Day Wear and have fallen deeply in love!
Not the best picture I know, I'm taking all these pictures from my phone. If you want a full review of this let me know :)

I've also had a bit of a hair chop! I had it cut first at the beginning of April and just had a trim,   and then yesterday went back to have it cut again, I was thinking maybe going quiet short, if you follow me on integral you will have seen the picture of the style I was thinking of, if not....why not! haha @pollypocketx91! But being the chicken that I am we went with just putting a few layers in to add body and shape to it. I love it!
I get my hair done by the beautiful Shel from Thebeautyshell, if your in the Cambridge area make sure to check her out! She also does my eyebrows amazingly! Take a peek at her site to find out more about her :)

Keep your eyes open for more post very soon! Few tag posts, OOTD's and reviews are all on there way! :)

UPDATE - Hair!

Hello PPB's
How are you all? Good I hope! :) Some of you may have noticed no post on Friday, thats because I was holding out for this! :) I got my hair done on Saturday!
I had it ombred :) What do you think?
My aim is to grow it and so I thought the best way to do this without having to get it dyed all the time is to ombre with as close a possible colour my my natural colour on top. I love it! :) We did the ombre quiet high up so as it grows out it will last longer and wont have to have more blonde every time I have it trimmed :)

I have to go back on Friday to have more cut off though :( I made a promise with my hair dresser that if she let me keep the length for my birthday I would come back to have it cut! It really does need it! poor hair is in pretty bad condition atm, quiet dry! I have been using Moroccanoil everyday and it has really helped! If you suffer from dry frizzy hair I would really recommend it!
I have still been using Redken Extreme Shampoo and Conditioner along with the anti-snap serum every time I wash, however when I have to re-purchase this time I'm going to get Redken Colour, for obvious reasons haha!

Let me know;
Do you like these kinds of post?
What hair care treatments do you use and love?

My Blogs Facebook page reached 106 likes today! :) really cheered me up after a hard day, why my help my smile grow bigger and go and like if you haven't - LINK

My Summer Essentials 2013

I am seriously loving this weather! It really is true, the sunshine does make people happier, the people I have spoken too recently are all so smiley :) haha

So now that summer is finally here, everyone is getting out their idea of summer essentials and they are all different! :) Here are mine!
BTW If I have already posted a full review on a product I will link it so I don't repeat myself! :)
I find in the hotter weather I use a lot more dry shampoo, My hair gets greasy at the best of times but in the summer it happens so much quicker, but I don't want to have to wash my hair anymore than normal, so Dry Shampoo becomes my best friend! I have always used Batiste and this year decided to try the Sassy & Daring Wild one, Honestly I don't really know if I like this one, it makes my hair feel sticky! However I know a few people who have used these for years and this year just aren't getting on with them...New Formula maybe?
Staying with hair I have recently become addicted to salt sprays So quick and easy to use making mornings less stressful, also it means I can get out in the sun quicker and for longer. FULL POST
Moving onto nails, I pretty much always have my nails painted in summer! Actually I pretty much ALWAYS have my nails painted, however obviously colour choices change in each season! :) My all time favourite summer polish is BarryM's 'Berry' a beautiful lilac purple colour! My newest favourite is Essie's 'Mademoiselle' very pale pink, perfect with a tan! FULL POST
I have lost count of how many sunglasses I have got, but this summer these are my favourites! They are from Matalan. I love them...Plain and simple! :)
Moisturiser is very important in hot weather! keep your skin hydrated! I have been using Nip+Fab Coconut Latte, I got this in a recent GlossyBox, at first I really didn't like it, the smell is so sweet, but on the skin the smell is so nice! I also really like the fact that its not a white cream, its brown, I always find with pale skin a white cream makes me skin looks whiter however this really doesn't, if anything I find it makes my skin look a little more sun kissed!
Staying on the moisturiser theme, I only like to use gradual tanning products. I find Fake Tans really hard to use on my pale skin, they just never look good! So I have been using 'Garnier Body' 'Summer Body' I have it in the colour 'Deep Sun-Kisses' Purely because I used the light one last year and just didnt see any change. This year I have.
Oh look back to hair haha, if I don't want to use a salt spray because it can be quiet drying for my hair and its pretty dry already, I use Aussies 'Aussome Texturising + conditioning gel spray' I use this if I can going to leave my hair to naturally dry just sprat it all over the 'crunch' your hair in your hands and leave it dry. :) Just as quick and easy as a salt spray just not as drying for the hair! :)
I good Perfume I think is a must for summer! and my favourite is Chanel Mademoiselle, actually its make favourite all year round, its and all year round must have! :)
I mentioned body moisturisers but always remember to use one on your face and my favourite atm is Nivea Day cream, I just use it under foundation if I use it, or even just on its own, I never want a lot on my face when its hot, or I just feel like I'm... well...melting haha!
Staying with face products, I like to use the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream, light coverage, light on the face and it has SPF 30 in it! Perfect! :) I normally just put a loose powder over the top to set it abit and off I go. :)
I need a good book to read while I'm enjoying the sun in my garden. The book I'm reading this year is called 'Dead Scared' and its by S.J Bolton. It's a murder mystery kind of book and its always based in Cambridge, which I didn't know until I started to read it!...I live in Cambridge btw thats why thats relevant haha.
I leave you with blue sky! :)

What are your summer essentials?

Don't Forget!

Loreal Studio - Matt and Messy Shine Free Salt Spray - Review

I have always liked the beach wave look, with my hair being naturly wavey its just a case of taming it, its quiet frizzy with no product in it.
So anyway I want looking for a salt spray for a while but I didnt want to spend alot of money because I want sure if it would actully have any effect or if it did a good effect on my wild hair. I decided to try this one.

To use this is very simple, After washing my hair I leave it in a towel while I do my make up and then take it out brush it through and  just spray it all over the ends, from my ears down, finish by scunching it in my hands, while its still damp, Then just let it dry naturally. I find doing it this way doesn't leave me with crispy hair, I really don't like that look. By putting it on wet hair I am left with soft beachy waves, it doesn't tame he frizz completely but it does help with controling it.Where the Matt comes into it, I don't really get 'Matt' hair, i'm still left with a nice shine. I didnt get it for the Matt look anyway so this doesnt really bother me.

I got mine from Boots costing £3.96, its currently in a buy 1 get 2nd half price offer as well so if you were wanting to try it why not get it as your half price product! Got to love Boots!

So just a short post today :) Please please don't forget to follow through Bloglovin :) It would mean so much!!

Whats in my Shower/Bath

I have seen this post go around YouTube and thought well why not do it in a blog post! :) I  have really enjoyed watching them, so let me know if you have done one video or blog post I would love to have a look :)
So whats in my shower...Well

Body
Who doesn't enjoy a good bubble bath?! I know I do and I really like the Johnsons Bath & wash, yes I know its meant for babies, but It really does leave my skin so soft, so I am not ashamed! :)
Moving across to the Molton Brown Body Wash, oh wow! thats all I can say! This was a free sample I got from a friend she had got 3 and was lovely enough to give me one, this stuff is amazing! the smell is so good! and lingers on the skin and it lathers up so well, which means this sample may last me a long time because a little really goes a long way! I really may have to go and get the full size....
Right at the bottom is a Boots Body scrup and this on is the coco butter one, honestly I'm really disappointed with this! It does smell good but I leaves a greasy feeling on the skin which really isnt nice, this is really only still in my shower because it needs to be used up! sad but true.
Moving up is the Soap and Glory Sugar Crush scrub..now this is a different story, I love this! The smell makes me want to eat it and the scrub is amazing and really does an amazing job exfoliating! Thsi is definitely my go to body scrub.
Okay I have just realised there are 3 scrubs in my shower! haha
So onto the Anatomical Don't just clean it women, scrub it Body scrub, I got this is a GlossyBox, I do like it, and I enjoy using it, but I don't think I will be going out to get the full size, its nice to use but I still find myself reaching for Soap and Glory.
Now right at the top again Soap and Glory but this time The clean on me Shower gel, Well yet again, love this! Smell is amazing and the lathers up amazing, I also love the pump on it, I just think this is so much easier in the shower, you don't have to struggle with a screw top when you have wet hands (who else does that annoy) you just pump and go! Amazing! :) Can you tell I love it!? haha

Hair
You all know how much I love Redken Extreme, My full post Here. I have only been using the Conditioner atm a) Because I have run out of the Shampoo and can't afford to get more yet and B) I am really loving my Lush Shampoo Bar! It's call 'NEW' Its been designed to help 'stimulate hair follicles and maximise growth.' I am going to do a full post on this after I have used it for a but longer, I really am hoping to see some results! First impressions I am impressed so far, Its got a very strong smell of Cinnamon, obviously because of the Cinnamon stick thats stuck on the top! haha But I was abit worried about using it because I didn't know if it would actually clean my hair, but I really did!! The only thing I find it that it makes it feel very dry so I have to use a conditioner otherwise I don't think I would be able to even get my tangle teaser through it!

So that's whats in my shower/Bath :) Do you use any of the same products?

I Tag all of you to do this but particularly;
 Sophie - Flirty Dresses
Ashley - JerseyGirl1216
Stacey - Beautiful-Solutions

Just a quick one before I leave, I'm sure your all aware by now about GFC, So Pretty please keep showing your support for my little blog and follow through Bloglovin, it really would mean so much! :) The link is over there >> :)

Empty Products #1

Firstly who is as sad as me that GFC is going!! :( I love knowing how many people read my blog. So I was wondering if you would all be amazing and follow my blog through bloglovin? pretty please :)
Thank you :)
Anyway I haven't done an empties post before (that I can remember) but since I have been on my scheduled post plan I have decided to add some posts that I can do little series for and this is one of them :).
I have been keeping all of my empty products in a little bag next to my dressing table so I can just drop them in as they finish :)
The Products
Redken Extreme Shampoo
Loreal Elnett Satin Hairspray
Elf Eyebrow and Clear mascara
Balance me Eye Cream
Lancome Doll Eyes Mascara Waterproof
Benefit They're Real Mascara
Beautiful movements prime and create mixing medium
Mac Blot Powder
Redken extreme shampoo has been a god send for me! This is my second bottle and I seriously couldn't live without it! It really has saved my hair! I did a post all about it HERE so I wont ramble on! :)
I had only ever heard good things about Loreal Elnett hairsprays, I normally just went for cheap hairspray, but I got this one when it was on offer in boots. To be honest I don't really get the hype, Yes it smells better than most and yes I doesn't leave your hair crispy and crunchy, but it really didn't keep a style in my hair, I was really disappointed in this :(. Sadly I wont be rushing out to buy another one :(
Elf Eyebrow and Clear Mascara I will be purchasing again! I didn't actually use the one that's meant for mascara as mascara though...did that make sense?... and I used the brush that was meant for mascara for my eyebrows, I just preferred the shape of the brush. I love this stuff, it kept my eyebrows fixed in place all day and did leave any residue on my eyebrows which I have found some eyebrow gels to do! :) AND its super cheap! bonus!!!
I got the Balance me eye cream in a glossybox, It claims to sooth, brighten and lift your under eyes, I have to say I liked it, I used it every morning before make up and i just found it to help with under eye bags, it helped make my eyes look more awake, I wont purchase it again I didn't think it was amazing, but it was really ncie to be able to try it! Thanks Glossybox
Onto Lancome Doll Eye Mascara..Well this is seriously my favourite mascara! I brought the waterproof one because I find normal mascara smudges on my pretty badly through out the day but the waterproof one stays  put all day! The effect it gives the lashes is beautiful! so natural and full, the perfect flutter lashes! :)
I brought Benefit's They're real mascara honestly because it had had so many good reviews and I gave it to them haha, I does live up to its reviews, its gives thick long lashes. I have brought 2 bottles of this however I don't think I will get it again, I just find it makes me lashes very spider leg like, I prefere the softer 'butterfly wing' look.
Again I got the Beautiful Movements prime and mixing medium in a glossybox. You can use it to make powder products into cream and as a primer, I used this as a primer, It leaves your skin looking matte and I love that finish, I think it looks cleaner and fresher on my face and it made my make up last pretty much all day! I really want to get this in full size, Hopefully next month :)
Finally Mac Blot powder, I love this, its just a light finishing powder or it can just be used on its own if you want really light coverage just to stop shineyness. It lasted ages! and I was so upset when it ran out, I guess the only bonus being i'm now one empty pot closer to getting a free lipstick!! :D

I hope you have liked this post! I really enjoyed remembering my I like these products or not liked so much :)

Please don't forget to follow on bloglovin!

Lots of Love
